Sustainable Farming
We want BKR Farms to last another 5 generations and more! Look at things we are doing to make our farm sustainable for years to come!
No Till Farming Practices
We have moved to no till farming on all of our dry farm acres and to a minimum tillage on all irrigated acres. The benefits of no till farming include, decrease in soil erosion, increase in organic matter, bio diversity, and soil buildup.
Cover Crops
We have implemented cover crops to keep the soil in place and to sequester carbon. Our cover crop mixes include peas, radishes, turnips, mustard, clover, grasses, vetches, and many other varieties.
